WIP - Ghost Town

Here are a few sketches from a game concept I'm working on. It's a westerny, ghosty type story. Here are the main characters, a boy deputy and his trusty old horse, Trooper.

Expressions

Just an exercise of simple expressions of a man with a stache.

Hi-Ho Silver!

I loved going to the playground and riding those stationary horses with the big spring. I would rock back and forth so hard I would actually buck myself off half the time. I felt so much like the Lone Ranger, of course he probably didn't get thrown from his horse as often as I did. 

Bigfoot & Birdy

I spent about an hour today just staring at Carter Goodrich's illustrations and still have trouble wrapping my head around how amazing his character designs are and his use of watercolor. I was playing around with some Prismacolor nu pastels today, just experimenting. Plus its always fun to draw Bigfoot. I'm going to try and  work traditionally more and more and only use photoshop for minor adjustments. 

What have you got behind your back?

I could never keep something a secret from my mom as a kid, especially if that secret was a living thing I was keeping in my room.

He's a lumberjack and that's okay

I'm not sure why I drew a lumberjack, I started with a guy who had a great beard and this is what I ended up with.
